17 Nov Morna Valley Ibiza Hike
Living in Morna Valley this is our backyard hike. Our tiny house is literally situated on a camino that is part of this trail so whenever I feel like hiking but don’t want to go out with the car this is the trail that I take. The trail is 16k and leads all the way up to Sant Joan and back and has quite a bit of elevation (total of 550 meter). Parts of the trail go through the forest and remote areas where grid connection hasn’t entered the island yet! Other parts of the trail go over the mountain ridges with beautiful sea views of both the East and West side of the Island at once! The Hike will also lead you through burned parts of the big forrest fire a few years ago and its amazing to see how big that fire must have been but also to see how the forrest is rebuilding itself.
Duc knows this trail on his little left front paw. One of the reasons that I got him a GPS tracker is that he sometimes decides to take the trail by himself. I don’t mind him doing the trail on his own or heading out a few k’s into the forest as he always returns afterwards and knows the area even better than I do, It’s just that I like to know it when he does so hence the tracker.
Everybody who loves hiking should do the Morna Valley hike at least once. As said earlier the hike that im referring to is 16k, however, there’s also a shorter version of 12k for those who like that more. That hike is also attached at the bottom of this post.
As you may see, these hikes start from my house. However, you can also easily start from a central location close by with enough parking space which is right about here: https://goo.gl/maps/NT9rgxrPtcC2 .
